history

BOE Architects was founded in 1983 in the San Francisco Bay Area by Architect Timothy Boe. As a multi-disciplinary, full-service firm, BOE immediately gained recognition for its award-winning architectural designs, as well as for its success in working with municipalities, in the capacity of client’s advocate. The firm’s ability to obtain entitlements and Planning Department approvals on a multitude of different project types quickly established BOE Architect’s reputation as a leader in this important area of the development industry.

In 1998, BOE was restructured as part of a merger in which the company name was changed to ARC Inc. Three years later, after opening it’s Southern California branch office, Timothy Boe sold his interest in ARC Inc. and reinstated BOE Architects in the SouthWest. The architecturally significant City of Pasadena, and its historic Old Town district, is where BOE Architects is now headquartered. BOE also has a Northern California office located in Downtown Sacramento.
